Investing In Your Mental Health
Therapy takes more than time and money. It takes a willingness to examine your patterns and try new behaviors, both in and out of session.
At The Secular Psychologist, I work with a limited number of clients so I can offer a thoughtful, evidence-based, and highly personalized experience. When you contact my office, you connect with me directly because there’s no administrative middle layer.

Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
Insurance & Reimbursement
I am out-of-network with all insurance companies.
What This Means for You
You pay for sessions directly at the time of service.
Some insurance companies will reimburse you for therapy costs, but coverage varies.
I can provide a superbill (a monthly statement) for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Please note that insurance companies may request information about your treatment and can deny payment for services, should you choose to use them to help pay for your treatment.
Sliding Scale
I do not offer a sliding scale at this time, but I’m happy to provide referrals to lower-cost providers if that would better fit your needs.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
